Dr. Mahar Milhem is a highly experienced General and Laparoscopic Surgeon with more than 36 years of expertise in clinical and academic practice. He completed his MBChB in Medicine and General Surgery from Baghdad University in 1989 and later obtained his Board Certification in General Surgery in 1997 from Baghdad, Iraq. After completing his internship, he joined the Residency Programme in General Surgery at Baghdad University (1992–1997), following which he became a Specialist Surgeon and worked in Baghdad from 1997 to 2006, performing complex general and emergency surgical procedures.

In 2006, Dr. Mahar moved to the UAE and began his career as a Specialist General Surgeon at Saqr Hospital under the Ministry of Health and Prevention, where he continued to serve until 2025. He further advanced his surgical expertise by completing a Fellowship at McMaster University, Canada (2015–2019), gaining advanced training in minimally invasive and laparoscopic procedures. Alongside his clinical career, he has been serving as an Associate Professor of General Surgery at RAK Medical and Health Sciences University (RAK MHSU) since 2012, mentoring and training future surgeons.

Dr. Mahar is an active member of the American College of Surgeons, the Iraq Medical Association, and the Canadian Physicians and Surgeons Group. Over the years, he has gained a strong reputation for his clinical excellence, academic contributions, and dedication to advancing surgical care in the UAE.
