Dr Sobia Nasim is a Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry, who treats young people and their families at tMedcare Camali Clinic in Jumeirah . After completing her MBBS, she went on to complete her basic training in Psychiatry at The Royal College of Surgeons Ireland (RCSI) training scheme in Dublin and achieved her MRCPsych(Member of The Royal College of Psychiatrists UK). She subsequently acquired her Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training, Ireland, a Diploma in Health Service Management from the UK and received training in Autism Diagnostic Schedule. She is also a Member of The College of Psychiatrists, Ireland.

Initially, Dr. Nasim worked in Child Psychiatry in Brunei where she helped develop the Child Psychiatry Service and gained experience working in a different culture. She returned to Ireland to complete her Higher Specialist Training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She has the experience of working with a Specialist Eating Disorder Service for young people. After extensive training, she worked as a Consultant in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in Ireland where she led and supervised a multi-disciplinary team of Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Family Therapists, Social Workers and Trainee Doctors.

Dr. Nasim believes that every patient and their family are different, with their own unique needs. Her goal is to design individual treatment plans keeping the best interest of the patient in mind. She treats conditions such as depression, anxiety disorders like generalized anxiety disorders, social anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder, eating disorders, psychosis, Autism, ADHD, bipolar disorder and emotional dysregulation. She also makes collaborative plans with parents and patients so they have clarity at all times. She manages parenting issues, behavioural issues, school refusal, attachment disorders and suicide risk assessment. As a Child Psychiatrist, she is cognizant of the fact that her young patients require specialized assessment methods including risk assessment and a detailed evaluation of their developmental needs.

During her leisure hours, she likes to read and spend quality time with her two daughters. She speaks English, Urdu, Hindi and Pashto fluently.
