Ms. Aakriti Mahindra is a Clinical Psychologist in the Department of Psychology at the Jumeirah branch of Medcare Medical Centre. She completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Psychology with a specialization in Clinical Psychology from Amity University in Noida, India. She also has a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Clinical Psychology. She is a member of the British Psychological Society and the American Psychological Association. During her academic studies, she received training in various psychotherapy modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), as well as in conducting psychological testing for areas such as intellect, learning disabilities, developmental issues, personality assessment, and neuropsychological evaluation.

Initially, Ms. Mahindra worked at Small Steps Big Dreams Learning Center which utilizes a combination of several play-based approaches to help achieve age-appropriate developmental milestones and prepare for school readiness. Then she did a stint as a Clinical Psychologist at the Credence High School which is a top CBSE (Indian Curriculum) affiliated school in Dubai. She garnered invaluable experience at Neuropedia, the first comprehensive paediatric neurosciences centre in Dubai which provides world-class expertise in neurological, psychological, behavioural and rehabilitative science.

Her expertise lies in the fields of Psychiatry and Psychology, where she specializes in treating a wide range of mental health conditions that include anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, behavioural problems, as well as more challenging issues like trauma, grief, and substance abuse. Ms. Mahindra does various psycho-diagnostic assessments for children such as ASD, and ADHD along with psychoeducational assessments for learning disability. She uses a variety of therapeutic approaches that are customized to the unique needs and concerns of her patients. These approaches include cognitive-behavioural therapy, mindfulness-based therapies, and emotion-focused therapy. She uses evidence-based techniques and therapies to assist individuals in coping with their struggles and enhancing their overall quality of life. Ms. Mahindra is actively involved in research and has contributed to several publications in prestigious international journals. She also conducts various school workshops/talks on mental health topics, and parent coffee mornings in the schools.
