How to Make Ice Cream at Home

One of the hardest recipes to create at home is to make ice cream. As normally it requires an ice cream machine, it is also possible to make ice cream without the machine.
Here is how you make ice cream easily at home without an ice cream machine.
Ingredients:
These are the ingredients for the ice cream base based on the three famous methods of creating ice cream:
No-Churn Ice Cream Method:
- 2 cups of heavy cream (chilled)
- 1 can of sweetened condensed milk (chilled)
- 1/2 tablespoon of vanilla extract
- 1/4 cups of sugar
Freeze And Mix:
- 1 1/2 cups of whole milk
- 2 cups of heavy cream
- 3/4 cups of refined sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon of fine salt
- Vanilla extract
Plastic Bag Method:
- 4 tablespoon of coarse salt
- Crushed ice cubes
- 1 1/2 cups of whole milk (chilled)
- 1/2 cups of cream (chilled)
You can choose your preferred flavor and add while mixing the ice cream base. These are the most popular flavors when making ice cream at home:
- Mint chocolate
- Chocolate chips
- Vanilla
- Peanut butter
- Chocolate
- Mocca
- Coffee
Methods:
There are 3 very famous methods to make ice cream at home without having to use an ice cream machine.
No-Churn Ice Cream Method:

- With an electric mixer, whip the heavy cream until its peak form
- Add the condensed milk while setting the mixer to low
- Add the vanilla extract
- Add the flavor (optional)
- After everything is mixed and the texture is peaked, pour the mixture into containers
- Freeze for at least 6 hours
Freeze And Mix:
- With an electric mixer, whip whole milk
- Add refined sugar
- Slowly add heavy sugar until everything is mixed together
- Add the flavors of your choice (optional)
- Pour the mixture into a steel baking dish
- Freeze for 45 minutes, take it out, and slowly mix
- Repeat freezing and mixing until the mixture starts to hardened (typically about 2-3 hours)
Plastic Bag Method:

- Mix cream, milk, sugar, and vanilla extract
- Add flavors of your choice (optional)
- Pour them into a resealable plastic bag
- In another bag, add crushed ice cubes with coarse salt
- Place the bag with the mixture into the bag of crushed ice cubes and salt
- Shake the bag well
- Let cool for 5 – 10 minutes
These easy ice cream at-home methods may brighten up the mood during the quarantine. It might also be a good experiment that you can try with your kids.
