For babies, teething may cause stress and even high fever. Here are healthy and natural teething remedies for babies that can help.
1. Apply Pressure
The most natural remedy for any teething process is to apply mild pressure on the gums to ease the pain. The easiest way to do this is by pressing on the baby’s gum with your clean finger and let them chew lightly.
Another way to do this is to pick a wooden spoon with water-based sealants. Research says that the mild roughness of the wood help comforts the baby. Additionally, a more natural way is to get a safe non-toxic teething toy for babies.
2. Compress the Area
The second advice for a teething remedy is to compress the gum. The cold sensation can overwhelm the pain of teething which eventually send the baby’s gum numb for a few minutes.
Applying cold pressure on the baby’s gums is very easy. You can always do this with ice cubes, but a safer way to do this is to freeze some chewable items.
A frozen washcloth is among one of the few things to freeze, or frozen carrots or bagels can help. However, always make sure that the frozen items are hard for the baby to swallow.
3. Use Amber Teething Necklace
Many mothers admit that using amber teething necklace help reduce baby’s pain. Baltic amber jewellery releases succinic acid upon contact body heat. Succinic acid is a natural anti-inflammatory that has analgesic properties to relieve body pain.
4. Herbal Remedies
Most effective herbal remedies for teething is chamomile tea. While it is a common knowledge that chamomile is calming and relaxing, it possesses nervine that makes it supportive to the nervous system.
There are many ways to serve chamomile as a pain reliever. One way is to make a weak chamomile tea and serve it to the baby along with the teabag. The tea bag can be frozen and used as a gnawing instrument for the baby. Another way is to make a chamomile tincture or just an essential oil of chamomile can help soothe teething pain.
